Skill level
Our patterns are designed for beginners, but you'll need some sewing knowledge to get started. You should feel comfortable using a sewing machine, sewing straight seams, backstitching, pressing and preparing fabric, reading a sewing pattern and understanding basic sewing terminology.
Need a refresher? Take a look at our how to read our patterns and sewing terminology guides before you begin.

Types of usage
We want to make sure our patterns are used in a way that’s fair for everyone, whether you’re sewing for fun or selling your handmade pieces. Here’s how it works:
1. Personal
Perfect for home sewists making items for themselves, gifts, or personal projects. This option does not allow selling items made from the pattern.
Examples:
- Permitted: Sewing a garment for yourself, or making a gift for a friend.
- Not permitted: Selling the finished item.
2. Business
This option is for small-scale makers who handcraft and sell their pieces. It allows you to sell up to 250 finished items made from this pattern, whether at markets, through Etsy, or on your own website.
Examples:
- Permitted: Selling handmade items at a craft market, or listing up to 250 finished pieces on your small business website.
- Not permitted: Outsourcing production to a factory.
What's not allowed?
We do not permit mass production or use by large fashion brands. If you plan to produce beyond 250 handmade items or outsource manufacturing, this pattern is not the right fit for your business.
At Sunday Sewing Club, we love supporting small, independent makers, and this structure helps keep things fair for everyone.
