Andi Slouch Bag | Digital Sewing Pattern
Description
The Andi Slouch Bag comes in three sizes and is soft, dreamy, and designed to sit effortlessly on your shoulder. Think school runs, market days, or travel days – it's your go-to grab-and-go bag that still looks chic.
You’ll learn how to make a beautifully lined bag using the box-out method, create neat boxed corners, and (if you’re in the mood) add a magnetic snap closure. There’s also an optional sew-in bag base if you'd like the bottom of your bag to hold a more defined shape. And if you want to make your bag in faux suede, we’ve included tips to help you get the best results with this buttery material.
This project is quick to cut out and sew, making it an easy afternoon project that still leaves you feeling like you learnt something along the way.
For sizing reference, the black bag shown is the small, the tan is the medium, and the blue is the large. Please refer to the last product image for more detailed measurements and a list of materials you’ll need to make the Andi Slouch Bag.

Skill level
Our patterns are designed for beginners, but you'll need some sewing knowledge to get started. You should feel comfortable using a sewing machine, sewing straight seams, backstitching, pressing and preparing fabric, finishing a seam with overlocking or a zig-zag stitch, reading a sewing pattern and understanding basic sewing terminology.

Each pattern download includes:
- The sewing pattern files formatted for both home or copy shop printing. The print-at-home document is compatible with A4 and US letter paper, while the copy shop document is compatible with A0 or 36" x 48" (Arch E) paper.
- A detailed instruction booklet in both a print-friendly version with minimal colours, and a screen-friendly version designed for easy viewing on digital devices. It includes preparation instructions, size charts, materials needed, pattern assembly guidance, cutting layouts, and step-by-step written instructions with diagrams.
- A full video sewing tutorial, showing you how to sew the pattern with a voiceover guiding you through the instructions.
Types of usage
We want to make sure our patterns are used in a way that’s fair for everyone, whether you’re sewing for fun or selling your handmade pieces. Here’s how it works:
1. Personal
Perfect for home sewists making items for themselves, gifts, or personal projects. This option does not allow selling items made from the pattern.
Examples:
- Permitted: Sewing a garment for yourself, or making a gift for a friend.
- Not permitted: Selling the finished item.
2. Business
This option is for small-scale makers who handcraft and sell their pieces. It allows you to sell up to 250 finished items made from this pattern, whether at markets, through Etsy, or on your own website.
Examples:
- Permitted: Selling handmade items at a craft market, or listing up to 250 finished pieces on your small business website.
- Not permitted: Outsourcing production to a factory.
What's not allowed?
We do not permit mass production or use by large fashion brands. If you plan to produce beyond 250 handmade items or outsource manufacturing, this pattern is not the right fit for your business.
